On Wednesday, Oct. 18 in Fairfield County, 18-year-old Robert Barbera was arrested by Darien Police officers in the city of Stamford, the department reported.
Barbera’s arrest comes months after his alleged actions in August 2023. Officers put out a warrant for his arrest just two weeks prior to his being taken into custody.
According to Darien Police, on Wednesday, Aug. 9, Barbera, a resident of Meriden in New Haven County, stole a car from a residence on Clocks Lane in Darien.

Surveillance video from the rest stops confirmed that Barbera was the suspect.
The 18-year-old was charged with:
- Larceny;
- Payment card theft; and
- Illegal use of a credit card.
He was arraigned on the day of his arrest and is next scheduled to appear in court on Friday, Dec. 8.
